As-Sajdah · 32:1–30
Meaning
Surah As-Sajdah. In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. (1) Alif Lam Mim. (2) This Book's revelation, beyond doubt, comes from the Lord of all worlds. (3) Or do they say he invented it? Rather, it is truth from your Lord, so that you may warn a people who had no warner before you, that they may find guidance. (4) Allah created the heavens, the earth, and everything between them in six days, then established Himself over the Throne. Apart from Him, you have no protector or intercessor. Will you not take heed? (5) He directs affairs from heaven to earth; then they ascend to Him in a day measuring a thousand years by your reckoning. (6) He knows the unseen and the visible, the Almighty, the Most Merciful. (7) He made everything He created good and began the creation of the human being from clay. (8) Then He made his descendants from an extract of lowly fluid. (9) He fashioned him and breathed into him of His spirit, giving you hearing, sight, and hearts. How little you give thanks. (10) They say, ‘When we have vanished into the earth, will we be created anew?’ They deny meeting their Lord. (11) Say, ‘The angel of death appointed over you will take your souls, then you will return to your Lord.’ (12) If only you could see the wrongdoers lowering their heads before their Lord: ‘Our Lord, we have seen and heard. Send us back to do good; now we are certain.’ (13) Had We willed, We could have given every soul its guidance. But My decree stands: I will fill Hell with jinn and humans together. (14) Taste the consequence of forgetting the meeting on this day of yours; We have left you aside. Taste lasting punishment for what you used to do. (15) Those who believe in Our signs fall in prostration when reminded of them, glorifying their Lord in praise without arrogance. (16) They leave their beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and hope and spending from what We have provided. (17) No soul knows the joy kept hidden for them as a reward for their deeds. (18) Is a believer like someone defiantly disobedient? They are not equal. (19) Those who believe and do good receive gardens of refuge as hospitality for their deeds. (20) The defiantly disobedient have the Fire as their home. Whenever they try to leave, they are returned and told, ‘Taste the punishment of the Fire you denied.’ (21) We will let them taste a lesser punishment before the greater one, that they may return. (22) Who is more unjust than someone reminded of his Lord's signs who then turns away? We will bring retribution upon the wrongdoers. (23) We gave Musa the Book; do not doubt that meeting. We made it guidance for the Children of Israel. (24) We appointed leaders among them who guided by Our command when they were patient and certain of Our signs. (25) Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning their disagreements. (26) Does it not guide them to know how many earlier generations We destroyed, whose dwellings they walk through? There are signs in this. Will they not listen? (27) Do they not see how We drive water to barren ground and bring forth crops for their cattle and themselves? Will they not see? (28) They ask, ‘When will this judgment come, if you are truthful?’ (29) Say, ‘On the day of judgment, the disbelievers' belief will not benefit them, nor will they be given respite.’ (30) Turn away from them and wait; they too are waiting.
Al-Mulk · 67:1–30
Meaning
Surah Al-Mulk. In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. (1) Blessed is He in whose hand is all dominion; He has power over everything. (2) He created death and life to test which of you is best in conduct. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving. (3) He created seven heavens in layers. You will see no imbalance in the Most Compassionate's creation. Look again: do you see any flaw? (4) Look again and again; your sight returns humbled and exhausted. (5) We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps and made them a means of driving away devils; We prepared blazing punishment for them. (6) Those who disbelieve in their Lord face Hell's punishment, a terrible destination. (7) When cast into it, they hear its roar as it boils. (8) It nearly bursts with fury. Whenever a group is cast in, its guards ask, ‘Did no warner come to you?’ (9) They reply, ‘A warner did come, but we denied him and said: Allah has revealed nothing; you are in great error.’ (10) They say, ‘Had we listened or used our reason, we would not be among the people of the blaze.’ (11) They admit their sin. Away, then, with the people of the blaze. (12) Those who fear their Lord unseen receive forgiveness and a great reward. (13) Conceal or reveal your speech; He knows what hearts contain. (14) Does the One who created not know? He is the Most Subtle, the All-Aware. (15) He made the earth manageable for you. Travel its paths and eat from His provision; to Him is the resurrection. (16) Do you feel secure that the One above heaven will not make the earth swallow you as it shakes? (17) Or that He will not send a storm of stones against you? You will know the consequence of My warning. (18) Those before them also denied the truth. How terrible was My rejection of them. (19) Do they not see birds above them spreading and folding their wings? Only the Most Compassionate holds them aloft. He sees everything. (20) Who could serve as an army to help you apart from the Most Compassionate? The disbelievers are only deluded. (21) Who could provide for you if He withheld His provision? Yet they persist in arrogance and rejection. (22) Is someone walking face down better guided, or someone walking upright upon a straight path? (23) Say, ‘He brought you into being and gave you hearing, sight, and hearts. How little you give thanks.’ (24) Say, ‘He spread you across the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.’ (25) They ask, ‘When will this promise come, if you are truthful?’ (26) Say, ‘That knowledge belongs to Allah alone. I am only a clear warner.’ (27) When they see it close at hand, the disbelievers' faces become distressed, and they are told, ‘This is what you called for.’ (28) Say, ‘Consider: if Allah destroys me and those with me, or shows us mercy, who will protect the disbelievers from painful punishment?’ (29) Say, ‘He is the Most Compassionate. We believe in Him and place our trust in Him. You will know who is in clear error.’ (30) Say, ‘Consider: if your water sank into the earth, who could bring you flowing water?’
