Quran · 18:1–10
Meaning
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. (1) All praise belongs to Allah, who sent the Book down to His servant and placed no crookedness in it. (2) It is upright, warning of severe punishment from Him and giving believers who do good the news of a fine reward. (3) They will remain in it forever. (4) It also warns those who say, ‘Allah has taken a child.’ (5) Neither they nor their forefathers have knowledge of this. Grave indeed is the word coming from their mouths; they speak nothing but falsehood. (6) Perhaps you would destroy yourself with grief over them if they do not believe in this message. (7) We made what is on the earth its adornment to test which of them is best in conduct. (8) We will certainly turn all that is upon it into barren ground. (9) Do you suppose the people of the cave and Ar-Raqim were a wonder among Our signs? (10) When the young men took shelter in the cave, they said, ‘Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and provide sound guidance for us in our affairs.’
