Musa's truth and the magicians' faith
Reading preferences
Before reading
The account of Musa's staff and the magicians' declaration of faith. Reflection material, without prescribing a dedicated prayer recitation. A verse teaching remembrance or discussing healing does not itself prescribe a special recitation of that verse.
Quran · 7:117–122
Meaning
Then We inspired Moses, “Throw down your staff,” and—behold!—it devoured the objects of their illusion! So the truth prevailed and their illusions failed. So Pharaoh and his people were defeated right there and put to shame. And the magicians fell down, prostrating. They declared, “We (now) believe in the Lord of all worlds— the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
